SMS track teams battle Issaquah
The Snoqualmie Middle School seventh and eighth grade girls track teams made a strong showing Thursday, May 21, against Issaquah Middle School.
Leading the way with wins for the seventh grade girls were Kristen Kasel in the hurdles, Erin Rylands in the 1,600-meter race and Erica Hookland in the discus. The medley relay team of Kasel, Hookland, Madeleine Hutchison and Celine Fowler scored a first-place victory.
In the eighth grade meet, Nadja Beattie led the scoring with a first place finish in the hurdles and a second in the 100-meter race. Teammate Katie Huerta was a double winner with a first in the 800-meter race and a third in the high jump. Bringing home a second place in the 400-meter race was Amanda Smith.
