Jacobsen key again

Former Mount Si Wildcat Mick Jacobsen scored 19 points as No. 24 Western Baptist snapped a nine-game losing streak recently to No. 17 Oregon Tech in convincing fashion, 80-62. It had been almost five years since the Warriors topped the Owls, the last being a 96-69 shellacking in the Cascade Conference playoffs in 1997 – the first year WBC advanced to the NAIA II National Tournament.

Western Baptist did not allow Oregon Tech (19-7, 9-4) to get closer than 10 points after building an 11-point advantage at the half. Jacobsen was 9 for 13 from the field, including four dunks, as the Warriors delivered 62 percent of its field goal efforts in securing sole possession of second place.
