Local gymasts do well

Two local gymnasts competed in the Gymnastics East Level Seven state championships recently. Georgia Reynolds, of North Bend, took second all-around in the Seniors A group. She scored 9.4 on vault, 9.4 on bars, 9.325 on beam and 9.225 on floor.

Teammate Miranda Roberts, of North Bend, took 19th in all-around competition in the Seniors A group. She scored 8.6 on vault, 9.175 on bars, 8.750 on beam and 9.1 on floor.

Englund plays in all-star game

Mount Si boys’ basketball player and Kingco 3A Most Valuable Player Kevin Englund took part in the All State 3A/4A boys’ basketball game held April 2 at Key Arena in Seattle and did well. Englund scored nine points as the 3A all-stars rallied for a wild 114-101 victory over the 4A all-stars. The game was one of three games pitting the best senior high-school basketball all-stars from the state and was held in conjunction with the Sonics game that night at Key Arena.
