Competitive cheer program to start

Competitive cheer has become prominent throughout the Northwest. This select program offers youths the opportunity to compete locally and regionally while building team skills, improving and learning new dance and tumbling, building positive self-esteem and creating friendships.

Competitive cheer is also becoming recognized as an opportunity for college scholarships nationwide. Puget Sound Gymnastics and Dance in Snoqualmie is now offering youths the opportunity to become part of a competitive cheer squad. The initial squad will be offered to those 9-18 years of age. An additional squad for ages 6-8 will be added in November.

Families interested in having their youth involved in competitive cheer are encouraged to attend an informational meeting on Monday, Sept. 11, from 6:30-7 p.m. at Puget Sound Gymnastics and Dance, located next to Mt. Si Sport + Fitness at 1546 Boalch Ave. N.W., North Bend.
