Basketball

mini-cheer camp scheduled

Mount Si High will hold a basketball mini-cheer camp on Mondays

and Thursdays between Jan. 10 and 20. The camp will run from 6 to 7:15

p.m. at the school commons.

Each camper will receive pom-poms and a camp T-shirt and will

learn two chants, one cheer and a dance routine. The camp will wrap up with

a performance at the Wildcats’ home basketball game against Liberty.

Registration cost is $30 per camper. Send your check with

name, grade, and requested T-shirt size (youth M, L or adult S, M, L, XL)

Winter recreation guide available

Winter is a great time to visit a King County park for a nature

walk or an indoor activity like basketball. To learn more about winter

recreation opportunities in the county park system, pick up a copy of the new

Winter Recreation Guide.

The guide includes detailed information about dozens of winter

recreation activities and how to sign up. King County Park System

recreation programs are priced for families, and some are free.

Annual bird count underway

If you’re a bird watcher _ or think you might want to be _ spotting

teams are forming throughout the state for the 100th annual Christmas

Bird Count, which runs from now until Jan. 3.

Birders in Washington, along with those from Alaska to Argentina,

will be counting every bird they see in one 24-hour period within those dates

and reporting their results to the Audubon Society. If you want to get

involved, call the East Lake Washington Audubon Society in Bellevue at

at www.wa.audubon.org.

Fall City Little League schedules registration

Registration for the Fall City Little League will be held at the Fall

City fire station from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, and at Fall City

Elementary School from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 12. If your child

has never played with the league, you need to bring their birth certificate or a

certified copy.
