For the first time in school history, Mount Si has a Kingco gymnastics champion. Freshman Georgia Reynolds had a spectacular night and captured the top score in all-around competition. She scored a 36.600 in total points to Mercer Island’s Laura Maruhashi’s 36.450. Maruhashi was considered a favorite going into the competition. It was the first time that anyone from Mount Si had won an event, let alone best gymnast all around. In addition to her top all-around finish, Reynolds won the bars with a score of 9.025, just beating out Maruhashi with a 9.000. She also won the beam with a 9.300, beating Newport’s Chelsea Chinery’s 9.250. Reynolds also placed second on the vault with a score of 9.100 and ninth on the floor with a 9.175.

The young Reynolds appeared shy from all the attention. “I am really excited. We are going to do great; we go all out,” she touted.
