    of the game without the services of the other senior co-captain, Kevin Isackson, who was assessed a yellow card by officials in the 29th minute and was not re-entered soon after, even though coaches could do so. The referee for the contest appeared to be the same one who assessed a controversial red card on Isackson during the Wildcats’ 1-1 tie at Skyline on Friday, March 14. That red card cost Isackson a one-game suspension; one more red would cost him the rest of his senior season according to high school rules. Isackson will return for Mount Si’s games this week against the Spartans and Mercer Island.

    The home victory on Thursday, April 3, against Sammamish was a critical one for the Mount Si High School softball team. With the Wildcats now at 2-3 in league, the win kept them in the hunt for postseason glory. It turned out be a much closer game than the team hoped for, but a win is still a win, and Mount Si may have discovered a youth movement in the process.

    Lexi Johnson. Marissa Busby, the team’s sweeper, and stopper Alexis Greer led a fierce defensive line-up. The team worked on ball control, marking goal side and distributing the ball to the outside midfielders. The girls’ willingness to try new things, work hard during practice, maneuver as one organism during games, communicate on the field, and support one another made the season a success.

    The Chief Kanim Middle School Hawks seventh- and eighth-grade varsity basketball teams traveled to Snoqualmie Middle School last week, where they picked up two tough wins against the Eagles. The seventh-grade team made key free throws and controlled the boards to earn a 45-38 victory. The eighth-grade team ran their offense effectively and controlled the boards to earn a 43-23 win.
