round out season

In Thursday’s gymnastics meet at Inglemoor High School in Bothell,

the Mount Si squad broke the 100-point barrier while placing fourth. The

host school scored 172.55 to take the meet, followed by Mercer Island

with 152.65, Skyline with 147.75 and Mount Si with 102.

“With only six members competing for the Mount Si gymnastics

team, the girls did an outstanding job,” said coach Renee Tredo. “On bars,

Christine Bauman did a great job of showing her terrific skills and scored

well. On floor, Nicole Haustveit performed very well and did an awesome

front handspring in her routine.

“On the beam, Crystal Miller competed for the first time and

performed like a pro. Lindsay Loeffler stuck to the beam like glue and did not fall

off once, while Cortney Schuller scored her highest score ever on beam.

Finally, Ashley Kraupie worked the vault. She vaulted to one of her

best scores ever!”

The meet at Sammamish concluded Mount Si’s series of

Thursday events. They next take to the floor at Sammamish on Saturday, Feb.

5. “Come and watch the Mount Si gymnastics team work all of their

events,” said Coach Tredo.
