Mount Si volleyball ends season at districts

Mount Si finished its volleyball season with a 3-0 loss to Kamiak in the 4A Wes-King district tournament on Nov. 8 at Bothell High. The Wildcats went 2-2 in the tourney.

Kamiak won 25-23, 25-19, 25-20, and highlights for Mount Si were Dana Dolan’s 27 assists, Breana Fitzgerald’s 11 kills and 12 digs and Bailey Showalter’s 10 kills and 22 digs.

Mount Si beat Woodinville in four games at districts on Nov. 6 to stay alive. Scores were 25-17, 25-13, 24-26, 25-15. Woodinville was eliminated from the tourney.

For Mount Si against Woodinville, Dolan amassed 35 assists and 14 digs, Fitzgerald had 13 digs, Bellah Gogan had 15 kills and four aces, and Showalter had 16 kills and 10 digs.

Mount Si also beat Jackson, 3-2, and lost to Issaquah, 3-0, at districts.

The team’s Facebook page read, in part, following the Kamiak match: “Outstanding effort tonight and played with a lot of heart. These Cats were one of three KingCo teams left in the 4A King-WesCo District tourney and we are proud of them and how much they improved this season.”
