Mount Si girls drop first meet

The Mount Si women's track team lost to a powerful Bellevue team yesterday, 86-55.

The Mount Si women’s track team lost to a powerful Bellevue team

yesterday, 86-55. Leading the team was Heather Breitenbach winning the

200 meters in a fast time of 27.94 seconds. She also recorded the best high

jump at four feet, 10 inches, winning the event.

Joanna Pleasants won the discus with a throw of 104 feet, seven

inches and also the javelin with a toss of 110 feet. Teammate Ashley

Vanoveren won the shot with a toss of 27 feet, 6 ½ inches. Wildcat Cari Smith tied

her own school record with a vault of eight feet, six inches, enough to win

the event.

Other top performances were turned in by the Jessica Hanna with

a six minute, two second 1600-meter run and Katie Childs with a six

minute, nine second 1600 meter, with the two taking second and third respectively.

Sheena Kern ran a 13 minute, three second 3200 meter to take second.

Mount Si hosts state powerhouse Newport this Thursday at Mount Si.
