The Mount Si Wildcat girls basketball team gave its best effort last Wednesday night at Newport but the experience of hte Knights proved to be too much in the end.

The Mount Si Wildcat girls basketball team gave its best effort last Wednesday night at Newport but the experience of hte Knights proved to be too much in the end.

Despite a solid 13-point-effort from Caitie Richards and an 11-point performance from Traci Nelson, the Wildcats fell 58-50 to the Knights. Betsy Kingma led the way with 16 points for Newport, who also got a nice 12-point effort from Christina Meehan. Patrice McKinnon added 10 rebounds for the Knights.
