mix it up with Islanders, Knights

The Mount Si JV and freshman girl’s basketball squads delivered

a mixed bag for last Wednesday’s games at Mercer Island. In the early

contest, the Wildcat frosh fell to their Mercer Island counterparts, 40-20.

However, in the later game the JVs overcame a sluggish start and came back from

an 18-point deficit to tie the Islanders in regulation play. They then capped

their evening with a 42-38 overtime victory.

Last Friday night, however, visiting Newport scored the hat trick,

beating all three women’s teams. While the varsity just barely fell to the

Knights, the freshmen lost 24-46 and the JVs lost 33-47.
