Snoqualmie Valley Little League kicked off their season with opening day festivities at Westerlund Memorial Field in North Bend. Former Major League player Dave Henderson was the league's special guest, providing encouraging words for the kids as well as signing autographs.
Pictured with Henderson is Cody Lane, an 11-year-old catcher from last year's all-star team. North Bend Mayor Ken Hearing also participated in the festivities as did Mount Si standout Kandice Clesson, a pitcher for the Wildcats' varsity fastpitch team. Clesson threw out the first pitch to start off the softball season with 10-year-old Karly Weidenbach catching the pitch. Allyson Rosman performed the national anthem to get everything going and Party Hoppers provided entertainment for the players with a speed pitch machine and several inflatable rides.
