Zimbabwe native Denis Watson took home the $240,000 winner’s prize in last week’s Boeing Classic, held at the Tournament Player’s Course on Snoqualmie Ridge.

Watson came out ahead in a rare 7-man playoff, winning on the second hole of sudden death, Sunday, Aug. 26.

The final seven included David Eger, Joe Ozaki, R.W. Eaks, Dana Quiqley, Gil Morgan and Craig Sadler. The seven finalists shot 207 in the three-day tournament.

Eager, Ozaki, Quigley and Morgan were eliminated in the first sudden death round, on the par 5 18th hole at the TPC. On the second sudden death, Eaks and Stadler shot four in the hole. Watson shot three.

A playoff with seven players was the largest ever in the Professional Golf Associa-tion Tour.

The seven-man playoff broke the former record, a six-player round at the 1994 GTE Byron Nelson Classic, and the 2001 Nissan Open on the PGA Tour. The record on the Champions Tour was five players in the 1998 Kroger Senior Classic.
