Red Wolves split for the week

On Tuesday night, Oct. 12, the Cedarcrest girl’s soccer team

pressed on from the previous week’s hiccup by skunking the Interlake Saints by

a score of 3-0. The Wolves scored on goals by Sara Gustat at 56-minutes,

a Cassie Pepper shot off an assist from Elizabeth Ekstrom at 60-minutes,

and a second score by Gustat at 79:00, off an assist from Lindsay Peterson.

Last Thursday night the team blinked again, dropping a 2-1

match to visiting Mercer Island. The Islanders scored twice before the

Wolves could respond, on a pass from Peterson to Pepper. Eric Burch

and Jenny Harder split the game in the nets.

The 7-3 Wolves still hold down second place in the Valley Division

of KingCo 3A. They faced third-place Sammamish this past Tuesday night.

Mount Si

toughs it out

with Sammamish, Liberty

Mount Si hosted Sammamish on Tuesday, Oct. 12, and gave up

two goals in the first 20 minutes of play, before responding with a

Laura Fletcher shot at the 56-minute mark.

The soccer `Cats then clamped down, playing a great second half

and shutting down further offense by the Totems. Unfortunately, it wasn’t

quite enough, as the Wildcats were unable to score any more goals of their own.

Two nights later the Wildcats dropped a tough 3-0 game at

Liberty. The Patriots recorded their goals at the 12-, 24- and 37-minute marks of

the contest.

Mount Si hosted 4-6 Skyline this past Tuesday night. Their next

home game is this Thursday, when they take on Interlake.
