First Snoqualmie Valley Track Club home meet is Thursday

Hosted by the Si View Metropolitan Park District, the Snoqualmie Valley Track Club is offering youth ages 5 to 14 opportunities to practice and compete in track and field events.

Running events include distances from 100 meters to 1600 meters and team relays. Field events include long jump and turbo javelin.

The volunteer coaches have planned a season with focus on team building and individual skill development through various activities.

Practices are hosted at Mount Si High School track on Tuesday evenings and on Thursdays the team competes against other Eastside track clubs such as Bellevue, Issaquah, and Auburn. Snoqualmie Valley Track Club will host two home meets at Mount Si High School, on June 15 and June 22.

For the second year in a row, Snoqualmie Valley Track Club will also start it’s cross country program this fall.

The cross country program will practice twice a week and will run in competitive meets in October on Sundays and on the last Friday of the month.
