Mount Si’s girls’ varsity volleyball team split a pair of matches against Kingco 4A opponents last week.

The Wildcats went to Bothell Tuesday, Sept. 11, and played the Cougars. It was a very tight contest throughout, but it was Bothell who had the last laugh, rallying from a two games to one hole for a five-game match victory. Scores were 25-21, 22-25, 13-25, 25-22 and 15-13 in favor of the blue and white of Bothell.

Alisha Larion led the way for Mount Si with 17 kills, while Rachel Brun added 17 digs. Robyn Schirmer had an amazing night with 41 assists, and Danielle Rehm added 10 kills to pace the efforts.

The Wildcats returned home last Thursday and hosted Redmond. Mount Si was looking to get back in the win column and they did, playing likely their best match of the year thus far. Strong serving and sustained scoring, particularly in the form of a 17-3 run from near the end of the first game and into the start of the second game, helped the scarlet and gray make relatively quick work of the Mustangs.
