Writer supports Riverview tech levy

Letter to the Editor.

Technology did not fail us in Y2K. Let’s not fail our kids by denying

them the technology support they deserve in the year 2000. The way

Riverview School District, and the whole Snoqualmie Valley, will be

viewed in the future hinges on our commitment to the technology levy now.

An investment in technology insures that our future generation is

not left in the past. After all, computers are not just an extracurricular

activity in schools. They are essential to current education and future career

opportunities.

Computers link kids in the Valley to resources around the world.

Technology is an equalizer, making it possible for students from all walks of

life to strive for any career path they choose. More importantly, it gives

rural kids the competitive edge they need to get ahead in today’s

technological age.

How well educated and employed will our future Valley residents

become? With the technology levy in question, the answer is up to us.
