Another holiday season is upon us, and with it we get the chance to be thankful for many things. First and foremost, I was thankful to see that so many people and companies came forward to help the Kiwanis provide presents to Valley children after their break-in and subsequent robbery. With the help of many the incident didn’t impact a large number of people. But it is unfortunate that some idiotic person thought they should be entitled to what the Snoqualmie Valley Kiwanis Club had put together. I’m sure the big fella in the red suit checked his list and that person will be getting a lump of coal. In all seriousness, if you know of anyone that may be involved with the break-in at the Sallal Grange in North Bend, please contact the King County Sheriff’s Department, North Bend Substation. There are many people that would like to see the responsible person or persons brought to justice.

As I have said many times, Christmas is a special time in the Valley. This season has been tough in the sense that the need to help people is greater than ever. But in the same sense, it has been good because many of you have stepped forward to help those less fortunate.

2003 will bring many challenges to us as a community. We at the Valley Record hope to provide you the information to be informed on those challenges and to help us all make smart decisions. But we will also highlight the Valley’s successes of which there are many.
