Thinking of those less fortunate

Record Editorial

Every year my family enjoys the typical holiday festivities. We do Thanksgiving dinner at a relative’s house and then stay home for Christmas. I sometimes wonder if my kids understand how fortunate they are during the holidays.

I think about those less fortunate throughout the year, but more so around the holidays. Here in Snoqualmie Valley, we have a tradition of helping our own. From the beginnings of the Christmas Club started many years ago to the Kiwanis Giving Tree and local food banks, we are known for giving of ourselves to make sure nobody goes hungry or no child is forgotten over the holidays.

So please, take the time to find out where you can help, where you can donate food or pick a child’s name off of a Giving Tree. A small effort goes a long way to helping someone enjoy the holidays.
