There’s a history of all-star victories

I read the July 13 article, "North Bend family has four Little League all stars," and I was glad to hear that the Snoqualmie Valley Little League is having such great success during the all-star season.

The Mitchell family, as well as all other families with kids in all stars, should be proud of their accomplishments. In the article, Mr. Mitchell says that he thinks that the SVLL won its first all-star game ever only five years ago. However, the Majors all-star team that I was on seven years ago won a game in the tournament, and my older brother’s team also won a game two years prior to that. Other teams even before that have probably won games as well. So, although the success of this year’s all stars is unprecedented, our all-star teams have been winning games for many years. It’s no new thing.

I still remember how much fun I had during all stars, both in Coast and Majors. A lot of the friends I made during all stars are still my friends today. I wish this year’s all stars the best of luck and I hope they have enjoyed the experience as much as I did.
