The Valley Record is to be commended for featuring 2002 Mount Si graduate Brendon Haggerty’s educational adventure in Costa Rica as the lead story in the “Our Schools” section of the July 20 issue.

Valley youth and their parents can benefit immensely from reading about real life examples of college or tech school learning experiences being enjoyed by recent graduates of “Valley” schools.

I understand Will Mari, who wrote the story, is also a young person who was given the opportunity to interview and write this account. I hope the Record will continue to seek out more stories of a similar nature for reportage by aspiring young journalists – other recent high-school grads who have moved on to newsworthy experiences.

Good News!
