Many residents in the Snoqualmie Valley who are looking for the new state-of-the-art community center to be built on the Ridge are missing one very important resource; the Si View Metropolitan Park District.

The city of Snoqualmie has too long wasted the time of residents to implement any sort of plan for a new community center and will continue to do so with the current city parks department leadership. The Si View Metropolitan Park District already has an established tax base, community center, pool, recreation programs and a staff eager to expand programs to reach residents at the Ridge. The staff, lead by director Jessi Richardson, provides high quality programs at affordable costs to ensure a great level of care for the community in which it serves.

Being a Ridge resident myself, I have experienced first-hand the excitement and buzz that takes place around the Si View Metropolitan Park District office. This is an eager group of employees whose goal is to reach as many Valley residents as possible to offer recreational opportunities at the Si View Community Center. An expansion of the tax base to include the Ridge would be much more attainable by Si View Metropolitan Park District than the city of Snoqualmie dragging its feet to get the new community center approved.

The park district has the organization, leadership and perseverance to get the job done right. I, for one, will not be waiting around for the city of Snoqualmie, but will enjoy the current programs at the Si View Community Center and push to include the Ridge in their tax base so we can get our community center on track!
