Snoqualmie kids should play on city fields

Letter to the Editor.

Last week I attended the Fall City Little League fund-raiser. The Fall City parents did a tremendous job raising close to $12,000. I am so impressed with the dedication and work that the Fall City parents do for their league.

We live in Snoqualmie, but my son plays in the Fall City league. FCLL has had to make a major adjustment to accommodate all the kids that live in Snoqualmie Ridge. There are things that they can improve on – like communication with the Snoqualmie parents. Unfortunately, there are things that they will never be able to fix.

Most Snoqualmie Ridge parents want their kids to play in Snoqualmie with Snoqualmie kids. We want them to play on our own fields. Many Snoqualmie Ridge parents don’t even know that when the new ball fields have been completed, we won’t get to play on them as our home field. T-ball kids probably won’t get to play on them at all.

Currently, if you have a first- or second-grade girl, she plays no games in Snoqualmie. Our little kids play T-ball on soccer fields that won’t even be available next year. I am hoping that all the residents of Snoqualmie can see that this is not right. If your address says Snoqualmie, your child should be able to play in Snoqualmie on Snoqualmie fields. We do it for soccer, we should be able to do it for Little League, too.
