We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Sister’s Restaurant, located next to Safeway in North Bend. This Snoqualmie Valley history-loving restaurant is a special, unique and delightful place to eat.

The theme honors the pioneer women of our Valley. Each table signifies the history of one of the earliest arrivals. Some date back as far as the 1800s. When you walk in you feel at home and most welcomed, as you seem to step back in time. Antique dishes, furniture and even a wringer washing machine are just part of the decor. This is not a fast-food place; this is a laid-back, beautiful dining experience.

There are 83 kinds of tea available, each served in individual teapots for each person in real china teacups. The afternoon teas are excellent, served from 2-4 p.m. daily. They have recently started serving breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays, and dinners are served daily from 5-8 p.m.

The owners, Linda Kopoi and her daughter, Mende Johnson, are related to the Edgerly family that came to the Valley in 1940. Many of the recipes they use are from Grandma Edgerly and others from years back. The owners have created a wonderful addition to our Valley that honors their family and many others.

We are blessed with several good restaurants in our Valley, but if you haven’t tried this one, you are missing a wonderful treat. This is a place to take the whole family, as well as groups. The food is wonderful, delicious and plentiful. We just thought you should know.
