Relay auction and raffles open to all

Letter to the Editor

Snoqualmie Valley’s Relay For Life is just around the corner and I’m trying to get the word out to neighbors and friends that there is much more to Relay for Life than just walking to raise money for cancer research.

Thanks to the many local merchants who have donated goods, there will be a silent auction and lots of $1 raffles at the event at Centennial Fields. Here are a few examples of some of the wonderful items being donated: a Valley plane ride for two, Nintendo Game Cube and other Nintendo products, several rounds of golf, a beveled mirror and a weekend trip to Leavenworth. Even if you don’t participate in the walk, you can come bid on auction items or buy raffle tickets. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

Cancer is a serious subject, but that doesn’t mean we have to be morose. There will be live music, games, a clown and a puppet show – entertainment and fun for your entire family! All this is happening from 6 p.m. Saturday, June 5, until Sunday, June 6, at noon. The auction tables will close on Sunday morning at around 11 a.m. Help us reach our goal of $70,000 this year – and by all means, come to the Relay for Life just for the fun of it. But remember, there is no finish line until we find a cure. Any businesses or individuals wishing to donate prizes or auction items can contact me at (425) 888-9666 weekdays or e-mail Sue@wildernessglass.com. We would love to include you in this worthy cause!
