Last Friday I was surprised and honored by an award presented to me by the board of the Snoqualmie Valley Chamber of Commerce. I was so moved, I am not sure what I said in my acceptance speech.

In case I missed anyone, I would like to thank my wife of 39 years, Joyce, who encourages me to help in the community; Susan Hankins, a past chamber executive director who got me started volunteering in the community; the 2004 SVCC Board; the businesses who support the community (especially our kids); and last but not least, the community who supports the local businesses.

It all adds up to giving a little back and teamwork.
