Reader shares Mother’s Day sentiments

Letter to the Editor.

Just a little something to wish all mothers a very happy Mother’s Day.

Enjoy your little ones and all those special moments. As a mother of

three, one son, 20, is in the Army; our second son, 18, graduates high

school next month; and our 14-year-old daughter will begin high school in

the fall.

It is truly amazing how fast time slips away into special memories.

A Mother’s Testimony

She held the magnifying glass up to life

as if peering into one’s soul

searing for the imprint

of her spirit, hoping for a moment to focus clearly.

Changes and time’s passage

feels as if the sun has intensified

through glass,

magnifying the vacancy and searing a hole

inside a mother’s heart

where she watched her children grow.

Now the open wound pours out her love

in a testimony of truth,

for the cradle of her arms open.

Believing in them, their dreams and aspirations,

she knows the true magnification of life

and the hardest part of letting go …
