Rally restored faith in humanity

Letter to the Editor

I want to say thank you to all the wonderful people who helped

restore our faith in humanity. We had over 200 people at our rally who held up

placards and helped to talk to all the people who came by.

A special thank you to Safari’s Pizza for donating all the pizzas

for the rally _ they were great. To the woman who lives at the end of

Tanner Road who brought warm chocolate chip cookies and lemonade _ what

a wonderful thing to do _ thank you. To all the people who made a special

point of coming to sign the petitions _ thank you.

We had people come from Pullman, Spokane, Ellensburg,

Federal Way, Lacey, Olympia, Portland, Ore., and all points in between, just to

sign the petition.

We collected, and this is still not a final count, 1,134 signatures. And

that was just with one week’s preparation. Without the help of some of the

teens in our Valley, we never would have been able to accomplish this _

Kari Fischer, Chris Willett, Nicole _ a special thank you. Teri Keeney, you

wrote a beautiful, poignant letter _ thank you so much.

We are now in the process of getting an initiative placed on the

ballot, so that people like ourselves who are suffering in grief who choose to

have a small memorial at the site where their loved ones were lost will be left

alone in peace.
