Hos Bros. Inc. is asking King County to allow it to operate 340 gravel trucks a day over Snoqualmie Parkway, through the State Route 202/Tokul/Millpond interchange and up the mainline road to its planned “5 Mile Mine and Soil Backfill” operation. That will be more than a truck every two minutes throughout a 10-hour workday for the next 15 years.

The Mitigated Determination of Nonsignificance for this 5 Mile Mine and Soil Backfill L04CG431 has been published, and it states that, “Estimates of traffic volume impacts with expected growth models for the area were not made” and, “The effect of haul trucks on pavement surfaces was not analyzed.”

The public has until Aug. 15, 2005, to send comments and appeals to Lisa Dinsmore at The King County Land Use Services Division, Attn.: Permit Center, 900 Oakesdale Ave. S.W., Renton WA 98055-1219.
