NBE is proud of our community support!

Letter to the Editor

On May 14, the North Bend Elementary (NBE) PTA hosted its first annual Spring Auction. It was a new event for NBE. After determining interest and volunteer availability, we went forward with this new fund-raiser. We are thankful that Principal Dick Giger stood behind us through planning, development and organization. This event was simply not possible without his support and that of the entire community of NBE. We thank the staff, the parents and the hard-working students of NBE. Countless hours were spent planning, procuring items, creating classroom artwork, and preparing for the evening itself.

But, the support for this auction encompassed a much larger area than already mentioned. We take this time to thank all of you in the Snoqualmie Valley and beyond for your corporate sponsorship, donations, in-kind gifts and financial support. For those of you who attended this very fun event, you are well aware of how successful it was. But, without the support of many, this would not have been possible.

This event far surpassed our initial goal. We appreciate all that so many of you did to contribute to that success. We greatly value the hundreds of volunteer hours provided by many individuals, the time and financial resources that so many parents gave to prepare classroom baskets and artwork, and the continuing support of all of you in attendance at this auction.

This auction was planned to provide NBE with funding for technology upgrades that are not provided or not sufficient from the state and federal level. We realize the value of technology in everyday education and look forward to supporting those needs. Every child and staff member at NBE will benefit from this event. We once again thank you for your support and look forward to your continuing support in our future spring auction endeavors.
