I just wanted to pass on to all of you what an amazing performance Mount Si had last night.

Over the last eight years I have had the pleasure of attending as many programs as I can to support music in the district. The choirs at Mount Si last night showed an amazing culmination of all the hard work over the years in our district. Honestly, I don’t know that I have ever been so touched by a performance in a public school.

Every ensemble was exquisite. I know that being the husband of the director may fool you into thinking that I am biased, but make no mistakes, separating myself from the nepotism of the situation; I can honestly say that Mount Si has one of, if not “the,” finest high-school choral programs in the state. I travel often to many festivals and I rarely (if ever) see other high schools reaching the professional level of performance that the MSHS choirs are achieving.

I spent over an hour last night after the concert talking with wowed parents and community members, many of whom have attended concerts for more than 20 years in the district. Every person I spoke with walked out of the hall with deep appreciation for the hard work of Kim and her students, and awe that this mixture of music came from high-school students.

Thank you so much for your support and appreciation of this valuable asset at Mount Si. Let’s make sure that our energies continue to support this fine tradition of music-making in the district.
