More volunteers sought for club

Letter to the Editor.

The Snoqualmie Valley Youth Soccer Association (SnVYSA) will be holding its annual general meeting on Jan. 14 at Fall City Elementary at 6 p.m. This is a very important meeting, as one of the decisions to be made is the future of soccer in the Snoqualmie Valley.

SnVYSA is comprised of six soccer clubs encompassing all levels of play, from in-house recreational leagues to the Washington State Youth League. We have 13 volunteer board positions, 200-plus volunteer coaches and 2,242 players.

Two of the 13 board positions have been open for one or more seasons, with existing board members taking on the additional responsibilities in order for soccer to move forward. Several more positions will be open effective the annual general meeting.

The positions presently open include: vice president of competition, association registrar, Carnation club representative and Snoqualmie club representative.

Other areas of need include: Web master, referee coordinator, press/

communications coordinator and grant writer.

Each year the number of players grows by leaps and bounds. Unfortunately, the same is not true of the number of volunteers. If soccer is going to continue to exist in the Snoqualmie Valley, these positions need to be filled.

We need the support and enthusiasm of everyone from Duvall to North Bend. Please find the time to attend the meeting on Jan. 14 and find it within your heart and busy schedules to get involved with the youth of our community. You can make a difference in the lives of all the great kids in our Valley.

It takes a lot of volunteers to pull off a youth sports program. Come join the “behind the scenes” group of volunteers and together we can make it happen.
