I missed seeing you on Saturday, Aug. 11. As you may have known, I had been invited to be one of the grand marshals of the Alpine Days Festival parade.

I am sorry that I could not attend. One of my Scott nieces, who lived in Spokane, passed away during the week and our family had to attend her service.

I was complimented and very grateful to have been asked to serve as a marshal and to get the opportunity to wave and smile along the way with my friend, Mildred Ribary. She kept her word and waved for me in the good mountain air.
