Kiwanis Club prepares for Giving Trees

Letter to the Editor

The holidays are just around the corner and the Snoqualmie Valley Kiwanis Club, with the help of Hopelink, is again sponsoring the annual Giving Tree Program.

People can sign up for gifts on Dec. 7 from 1-7 p.m. and Dec. 21 from 1-7 p.m. at the Mount Si Senior Center; or on Dec. 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Dec. 20 from 4-8:15 p.m. at the North Bend library.

To sign up, you will need photo ID for those over 18, and Social Security cards or birth certificates will be required for all persons within the household. You will also have to show proof of physical address and proof of the last month’s income. If you are a current Hopelink client, you will not have to do this. The purpose is to ensure that all the recipients are treated equally and to identify need. To schedule an appointment, please call (425) 333-4163.

Outlets for the Giving Trees this year are Safeway, Cascade Office Supply, ACE Hardware, QFC, Bibo Coffee Co. on Snoqualmie Ridge, Snoqualmie Market, Family Market in Fall City, the Moose Hall, Sterling Savings Bank, Falls Pharmacy and Eastside Storage of North Bend.

The Kiwanis Club and Hopelink want to thank these businesses in advance for their great support of this program. The trees and tags will be available at these locations on the Friday after Thanksgiving until Dec. 19.

Distribution of gifts is scheduled to be held at the Sallal Grange in North Bend on Dec. 22 and 23. The set-up day will be Dec. 21.
