It’s time to say enough is enough

Letter to the Editor.

I am totally amazed that Washington state’s number one and

number two most visited tourist

destinations are up for grabs to the highest bidder.

For the past four years, Puget Western has been set on

developing the area within the viewshed of the Snoqualmie Falls, our second

most visited place of natural beauty in this incredible state.

Can you imagine coming from Germany, Japan or other far off

places to visit the Snoqualmie Falls, only to see as you gaze at the Falls a

shopping center and houses? The Falls is the birthplace of the Snoqualmie

Indian and is 100 feet higher than Niagara Falls.

Snoqualmie Falls and the area are truly gems of Washington state, yet

a developer can only see the profit from a paramount view.

Now, Mount Rainier is in jeopardy.

We are so blessed in this state with God’s gift of natural beauty. Yet

for the sake of money and profit, we could forsake a heritage people all over

the world travel thousands of miles to experience.

Please, it’s time to say enough is enough. Take the time to contact

your local officials, King County Council, your state representative, your

congress people and your neighbors.

There is no reason to ruin the first and second most visited tourist spots in

our state.
