Henry A. Bretschneider

Henry A. Bretschneider passed away March 15, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Racine, Wis. His death was due to injuries received in an automobile accident on Feb. 15. Henry was 89.

He was born in the area of Cottonwood, Minn., to Joseph and Mary Bretschneider. He was the seventh child in a family of 10 children born to that union. He attended elementary school in St. Leo, Minn., and high school and trade school in Racine.

Henry was employed at the J. I. Case Co. as an assistant shop foreman for 35 years. He retired in 1975. He was a longtime member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Racine and later a member of St. Richard’s Catholic Church, serving as an usher, alter server and in the parish council.

Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Emma, in 1979; his parents; two sisters, Anne and Mary; and four brothers, John, Joe, Frank and August.

Survivors include his son, Jack; three daughters, Judy, Joanne and Joan; one grandson, Jack; two brothers, Andrew of North Bend and Lewis of South Carolina; and one sister, Katherine of California.

Services were held March 25 at St. Richard’s Catholic Cemetery in Racine.
