Golf tournament ‘fore’ Relay for Life

Letter to the Editor

The Falls Rangers is a team of volunteers participating in the Relay for Life, a fund-raising event sponsored by the American Cancer Society. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation for the generous support we are receiving from many local businesses for our golf tournament at Mount Si Golf Course on May 20.

We would like your readers to know that there are many generous local businesses who have contributed to this event and we want to acknowledge them by saying “Thank you.”

Businesses sponsoring a hole on the course are: North Bend Auto Parts, Gordon Construction, Oberto Sausage, Hauglie Insurance Agency, Fall City Market, Jett-In Java, Mignone Interiors, Key Trucking and the Castagno family, Sunbrook Communities (St. George, Utah), Issaquah Signs, John Day Homes, The Reppar family, Skincare by Natasha, Concerto Networks, Issaquah Chevrolet, Fall Inns Bed and Breakfast and the Falls Rangers Team.

Prize sponsors are: The Salish Lodge & Spa, La Fagota, Snoqualmie Inn, ACE Hardware, Fall City El Caporal, The Pizza Place, Robertiello’s, Gordy’s Steak & BBQ Smokehouse, The Reef, Carnation Golf Course, Twede’s Café, Frankie’s Pizza, Adventure Bowling Center, Twin Rivers Golf Course, Mount Si Golf Course, Cascade Golf Course, Tall Chief Golf Course, Snoqualmie Falls Golf Course, Oberto Sausage, Nintendo, Kenny’s Northwest Experience and Twin Star Car Wash.

We want to especially thank Issaquah Chevrolet for offering a bright red 2005 Chevrolet Cobolt as our main prize for a hole-in-one on the eleventh hole. This promises to be a huge event, made possible through the efforts of many.

We have a great community here in the Snoqualmie Valley. Everyone is ready to step up to the plate in order to join the fight against cancer. Who has not been affected by this disease, either through family loss or a close friend? We have many survivors now due to research funded by the hard work of many volunteers doing what we are doing.

The Falls Rangers Relay team, one of 30 teams taking part in the fourth annual Relay for Life at Centennial Fields in Snoqualmie on June 25 and 26, want to urge you to come out for our first ever golf tournament on May 20 at Mount Si Golf Course at 8 a.m. sharp. It is a shotgun scramble – best ball event. No skill is required – only the desire to have a good time and help with this tournament.

Sign up forms may be found on Mount Si Golf Course’s Web site at mtsigolf.com; at all local golf courses; or by calling Mary Ann Rohrbach at (425) 222-5281. Cost is $80 per player. Make one check out to Mount Si Golf Course for $40, and the other out to The American Cancer Society for $40. This includes golf, lunch and fun.

Mary Ann Rohrbach,

team captain
