Fund raiser leaves roads much cleaner

Letter to the Editor.

We want to thank the managers of QFC and Safeway in North Bend for allowing us to solicit sponsors for our Trash-A-Thon at their stores. We also want to thank all the sponsors for sponsoring us in this first-round Trash-A-Thon.

We are doing the Trash-a-Thons to raise money to go to the National Scout Jamboree in Virginia next summer and to clean up our roads. The trip costs $2,200, so we have to raise a lot of money.

The first Trash-A-Thon was a huge success. On Dec. 4 and 5, we picked up over 1,250 pounds of trash on the Mount Si Road, North Bend Way and near Truck Town, leaving about five miles of roads in our community a lot cleaner.
