This letter should have been sent sometime ago, but it is never too late to thank “the Good Doctor” for all his exceptional care. I am from a large family and I started counting up the patients from just our family that Dr. Eddings cared for throughout his 44 years of practice. After 30 I was still counting.

He saw us through the loss of our beloved parents. He was there with hugs and words of comfort. He came to the house when my dad, Herb Miller, died at age 68 and pulled us through with gentle, and sometimes tough, words when we needed them.

Dr. Eddings has seen us through a multitude of illnesses that include cancer, heart problems, births, deaths and all the cuts and wrecks our kids went through. He has sent us to the right specialists when we needed them, and was in the operating room and did a lot of the surgeries himself, or was there for whatever was needed.

Our mother, Daisy Miller, was the sweetest mom anyone could have and she loved Dr. Eddings. He pulled her out of more emergencies than any one little woman should have. She always felt she would be all right as long as he took care of her, and so did her eight kids, and their kids and their kids.

I stopped at the new car wash in Snoqualmie that Dr. Eddings and his son, Joe, have just opened. I saw Dr. Eddings’ white hair and since I told him that when he retired I would make house calls to see him, I had to stop. He said I would have to catch him on the golf course or having fun with his grandchildren. Sounded like a great retirement. (I got a great car wash besides.) He is having fun and his smile is wonderful to see.

My granddaughter, Jacqui, summed it all up for us. She said, “Grandma, what am I going to do? Dr. Eddings has been my doctor from the day I was born.” She is 24.

We all feel that way, but we are glad to see him enjoying his family and having fun. God bless him. We’ll all miss him, too.
