Educate yourself about the issues

Letter to the Editor.

This letter is just to let all those out there know that Republicans do not have their heads in the sand, or any other dark place you might think. Instead of beating each other up as to which is the better candidate and telling everyone else how they should vote, I challenge everyone out there to go to the candidates’ Web sites and read the information! Not just for president either!

I used to be a single parent out there and know how hard life can be, and I also learned that you need to have a little bit of a clue how things work. You don’t need to know all the answers, but you do need to ask questions and learn to go out there and find information. Our buddies that are overseas and/or just got back tell a different story than what the media always puts out. Want to know what it is? Go talk to a service person and get your own information.

As for our economy, it is run by the state. Yes, the government of America has a few things that they can control for all the states, but it is still run state to state. Wednesday night after the last debate they were asking different people who they would vote for and why. One lady (single parent) said Kerry because he wants to raise the minimum wage. Guess what? That is a state issue, Kerry has no say in it. Check it out at http://www.dol.gov/esa/minwage/america.htm#Washington.

Did you know that the UW has a low registration for doctors because of state issues and that doctors (surgeons) are moving out of state because of this?

Schools are overrun and this is a problem, but we should ask our president of education – http://www.kucinich.us/issues/education.php. Here’s another site for information: http://www.ed.gov.

All that I am getting to is that you go and look for information. You can find pros and cons about everyone, just find the information yourself and take everything that you read and hear with a grain of salt. Make up your own mind and with the technology today, go find it! It won’t all come to you.

I’m voting for the people that I hope will make good decisions for me and my family. Get informed and vote for your choice, not someone else’s.
