Change is good on our Web site

Since 1913, our mission at the Snoqualmie Valley Record is to be the Valley’s number one news and information source. As part of that commitment, next week the Record will be officially unveiling our new and improved Web site at www.valleyrecord.com.

Since 1913, our mission at the Snoqualmie Valley Record is to be the Valley’s number one news and information source. As part of that commitment, next week the Record will be officially unveiling our new and improved Web site at www.valleyrecord.com.

As part of our redesign, the new site now provides even more Valley news to our online readers including breaking news, web extras and improved access and features.

Even in its infancy, our overhauled site has seen tremendous traffic growth to over 25,000 page views a month — of which 65 percent are from local Valley online readers. Even as we are still tweaking and fiddling with it prior to our ‘soft launch,’ many of our dedicated Web readers have taken the time to call us, commenting on how much they like the format change.

The Valley Record news staff have also expanded the site to include video coverage of Valley news and features as they happen. Already, regular viewers of valleyrecord.com have seen videos of counterfeit money found on Interstate 90, a local photographer putting on a unique exhibition at a North Bend bakery, and the culmination of the Encompass Respectful Giving campaign, as volunteers put together boxes of goods for Valley families.

And we have only just begun. Watch in coming weeks and months as valleyrecord.com continues to evolve. We will be implementing blogs, reader comments, opportunities for readers to post their community events directly to our sites via an interactive community calendar, and much more.

Readers can also view the most-read local stories from our 30 sister publications around the Eastside, South King County and across Western Washington.

As part of our partnership with the Snoqualmie Valley businesses community, we have designated a fixed number of premium advertising positions online. The week of January 12 through 16, we will be offering them to local Valley businesses first. Whether you have a Web site or not, the increased local market reach to our growing number of readers will help your business succeed.

Using the most advanced technology on the Web today, valleyrecord.com will be as dynamic and changing as the events that take place in the Valley each day.
