Candidate plans to continue work

Letter to the Editor

Well, the votes for school board are counted and it was very close. Congratulations to Kim Horn. For the over 3,200 voters that voted for me, thank you so much for your vote of confidence. For all of you who helped with the campaign, thank you so much for your time and efforts.

During this campaign, I continued to question whether I would be more effective as an active parent or as a school board member. Now I will be able to continue being that active parent and continue volunteering as a board member with the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation, in the classroom and as a fund-raiser and supporter for many of the programs at our schools.

I do hope that the school board and district take note of the voter support I received during this election. There are over 18,000 voters in the Snoqualmie Valley School District and to reach all those voters during this campaign was certainly a challenge. For those of you I did reach, I know that you support the goals we were trying to attain: increased public process, improved growth planning and higher academics. I will continue to actively pursue those goals and welcome your support in doing so.

I met and worked with so many wonderful people during this campaign. Again, thank you to all of you and to the community. I’ll see you around the schools.
