Bring back home & garden television

Letter to the Editor.

We have just received our new programming on AT&T Cable. I was

so impressed with the fact that we now have many more sports

channels, UWTV channels, Seattle City Council channel, more shopping

channels, and yet they removed one of our favorites _ HGTV _ without even

a thought.

I just talked with a representative telling me how pleased they are

with offering us more channels, that we now have the same channels as

Seattle about which my brother-in-law in Seattle was so upset because we used

to have much better TV’ing than he for a lot less money. I know how he

feels now!

By the time I removed all the channels that were undesirable, I have

far fewer stations to watch than we did before the new update. They would

be more than happy to upgrade our television service for the nominal fee

of $43.99 per month, and if we hurry and sign up now, they will waive

the hookup charge of $19.95.

I asked if I could drop the expanded basic charge of $18.49

and have the digital cable that includes HGTV. Of course not, they are

sure that we should be pleased with the removal of some of our favorite

channels and their giving us what they think we want. Now we will have to have

a converter box on each TV to get digital cable for a nominal fee per

unit. Would it now behoove us to purchase our own satellites rather than pay

the extra each month?

I was told that any complaints in writing can be sent to AT&T

Cable, 22025 30th Ave. SE, Bothell, WA 98021 and that if everyone who

agrees with me write, it could make a difference in our availability of one of

this Valley’s favorites, HGTV.

Please take a moment of your time and send a complaint to AT&T

Cable, or at least call (425) 398-600. Thank you.
