Dear Santa: Please make America free again. There are new laws for everything, no matter how minute or ridiculous.

This week in my town, it became illegal for me to be distracted in my car. I’m not sure when the worrywarts and busybodies will wake up and realize that they have stripped away every freedom we once had.

So, Santa, all I really want this year is my freedom back – freedom to drive down the street without fear that my Christmas budget will be taken from me for turning the volume down on the radio or glancing in the rear-view mirror at my children or, pray tell, my cell phone should ring.
