Thank you very much for all the support you have given to help our mission trip to the Congo. Unfortunately, the bishop in Congo requested we postpone our trip there because of the current elections taking place.

Some of our mission team decided to still go on a mission trip this summer to the country of Kenya. Others will be going to Congo next year. I decided not to go to Kenya so I could go to my college for two weeks of orientation and register for classes (Spelman College in Atlanta, Ga.).

However, I wanted to reassure you that your donations are still going to the mission projects in Africa. Although we were not able to go the Congo this summer, we had already committed some of that money to a church roof and food at refugee camps. Most of your money is being used at this very moment to help the Congolese after being sent to a well-known Methodist missionary in Congo. Some of it is also being used in Kenya, where the team is helping orphans and building structures for these kids.

I will be going to Africa next summer, but I wanted to reassure you that your money is being used now to help improve the lives of our brothers and sisters in two very wonderful countries of Africa. Thank you so much for your generosity. At this very moment, it is still touching the lives of those in need, even without our team being in Congo. It is providing food, shelter, education and most of all, hope. Your support is helping to make others smile more brightly while realizing their dreams.
