A thief in our midst

Letter to the Editor

It would appear that we have a local thief who is perhaps looking specifically for tools to sell for meth money. Be advised, especially in the west Snoqualmie area.

This person specializes in outbuildings, sheds, studios, etc. and is equipped with a bolt cutter. They walk to the location and carry the tools away, and are very fond of chain saws. They usually take the cut locks or sometimes leave parts of them. They leave no fingerprints, wearing either latex gloves or socks on their hands.

If you see an individual walking in the west Snoqualmie area carrying a heavy bag or chain saw, call the police. Thus far houses are not being entered. I would advise moving expensive tools indoors and engraving them with identification. They know the rules and avoid stealing firearms or vehicles and though they have not yet entered houses, that may change.

If you see a used Stihl 028 chain saw for sale, inform the police. I’d really like to have it back. Serial No. 210875666.
