Congratulations to the city staffs of Snoqualmie and North Bend, as well as their elected officials. But above all, thanks to Dave Reichert, our 8th District congressman, for working to secure economic development grants for the Upper Snoqualmie Valley.

Both communities desperately need economic revitalization in their downtown cores and this $2 million grant will go a long way toward helping them achieve their goals.

I know that several local business and building owners are anxious to see downtown revitalization, but wanted to see what the cities could put forward toward that effort. This money shows that local government is just as interested in economic development as most private parties.
