WILLIAM (BILL) FREDRICK LOBB

Long time Valley resident William (Bill) Fredrick Lobb, age 92 passed away peacefully on April 19, 2018 after a brief illness. He was surrounded by family members. Bill was born to James and Vera Lobb on February 16, 1926 in Sarasota, Fl. A short while later the family moved to Vancouver, British Columbia.

In 1944 Bill joined the Marine Corp. While serving he fought in WWII, part of several island campaigns in the Pacific, and in China. He was honorably discharged as Sargent William Lobb in 1949.

Bill met the love of his life Margery Doreen Hind on a blind date. They were married on May 24,1947 and were blessed with four children. Moving to the valley in 1952, they lived in Snoqualmie settling in the Meadowbrook neighborhood. Bill worked for Weyerhaeuser as a logger, Boeing as a tool and dye maker and King County doing road work. He retired and moved back to Canada to care for his mother. After 64 years of marriage his wife passed in October of 2011 and Bill moved back to the Valley.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother James, wife, and son-in-law Dan Castle. Bill is survived by his sons David, Jim and Terry and daughter Linda (Castle) along with 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild and counting.

There will be a graveside service on May 26th at 1:00pm held at the Mt. Si cemetery. Following the service there will be a potluck reception at Sallal Grange, 12912 432nd Ave. SE, North Bend.
