SUSAN HOPKINS KELLY

February 25, 1941—June 30, 2018

Susan Hopkins Kelly passed June 30 at home. Susan was born in Buckhannon, West Virginia, the daughter of Eleanor and Howard Hopkins. She graduated from Stanford University with a degree in nursing and the University of Washington with her Master’s degree. After graduation she entered the United States Navy Nurse Corps. It was there she met her husband of 53 years, Francis.

They made their home in Snoqualmie raising their two children Bart and Colleen. During her career as a nurse she worked at Snoqualmie Valley Clinic, nurse at the Snoqualmie Weyerhaeuser Mill, director of Home Health Services at Snoqualmie Valley Hospital, and the Department of Health State of Washington.

Susan’s community activities included Hospital Commissioner, Snoqualmie Valley Historical Museum, Encompass, Mount Si Senior Center, and Snoqualmie Library. She was a member of the DAR. Other interests included gardening, quilting, sewing, reading, book club, cooking, visiting friends and family.

Susan will be missed by all her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Francis, son Bart daughter Colleen, brother David (Dorie), nieces and grandnieces.
